Understand what an authentication step actually checks
Authentication ranges from a trained person looking at photographs to a physical inspection with a database behind it, and the two are not equivalent. Ask which one applies to the piece you are buying, and whether the result is something you can see. Our own baseline is an in-house visual and provenance check by juunam staff; where a piece cannot be verified, it does not list, which is a narrower and more boring promise than it sounds.
Add up the total before you commit
Price plus protection fee plus shipping plus any customs charge is the number you are actually paying, and on cross-border resale the last two can move it by a third. Work it out before you fall in love with something. We publish flat shipping per zone for the same reason — a number you can check in advance is worth more than a low headline price.
